Dave Lanphear

Dave Lanphear heads Artmonkeys Studios. You can find Artmonkeys' work at many publishers including Marvel, DC's CMX line, Disney, Dark Horse, Urban Ministries, Nachson Press and Zenescope, with future projects on tap with many more studios.

As a comic book letterer, it is estimated that Dave has lettered over 40,000 pages, enough to tile the largest comic book convention's floor four times! In his years as a letterer, he's worked in three major studios: Malibu Comics, Comicraft, and Crossgen Comics at their most prolific times. He's received several awards for his lettering. He's been blessed to work with talented writers, artists and editors, counting many as friends, and has had the privilege to work on numerous prestige projects still sold today.

Dave is a three-time Editorial Cartoon winner, and has also been a caricaturist, comic strip cartoonist, newspaper illustrator, storyboard artist (notably on PBS's Dragon Tales), magazine designer, talent coordinator, and publishing consultant. But Dave likes his current work best: a stay-at-home dad and husband with his beautiful wife Natalie and their two sons.
